History of the
Sperry Ski Club
The Sperry Ski Club was founded in 1959, consisting mainly of employees of Sperry Gyroscope, located in Long Island, NY. Under the leadership of Founding President Joe Fish, the club purchased property from Pico Peak and built themselves a 40-person lodge over two springs and summers; the official lodge opening was New Year's 1965. To this day, it is maintained by the members, and provides a place to stay within minutes to Killington and Pico, with areas such as Okemo, Sugarbush, Stratton, Bromley and Suicide Six within an hour's drive or so.
